I Heart Summer Tag

I love summer. Well not really.

What I really love is the fact that once summer is over, it means we are closer to college football. That makes me very very happy!

I saw this tag on Kellylovebeauty1's youtube page. I thought this would be a perfect post considering it's the beginning of August.

So let's see what I love about summer.

Shall we...

Favorite bronzer for summer? My favorite bronzer for summer is also my holy grail bronzer...Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sunlight.

You're relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? Alcohol wise probably a frozen drink of some kind or any white wine. Non Alcoholic would be Diet coke.
Favorite summer lip product? Any Maybelline Baby Lips. Right now I am obsessing over Pink Punch.

Pool or Beach? Pool. The beach is great for clearing my head but the pool is the most refreshing thing in the world. I don't mix well with sand and salt water. I always feel so gross when I leave the beach.

Summer = crazy hair! What's your must-have styling product? John Frieda Frizz- Ease Curl Reviver Mousse. I buy this in the travel section at Target. I love putting it in my hair in the morning and throwing my hair up in the messiest bun possible. When I need to go out, I take my hair down and my hair looks AMAZE-FEST-USA. I was out to eat with a girlfriend of mine, after we ordered the waitress asked me how I got my hair like that. Best compliment a girl can get is one from a stranger!

Favorite summer nail polish? Any white nail polish. Love

Any summer traditions? No real summer traditions. Just hang out. Swim in the pool when we don't get typical afternoon thunderstorms. FUN!

Favorite summer scent? I love the smell of coconut anything. Too bad I can't stand the taste of it. (Bleh)

Favorite BBQ food? Steak on the grill.

What's your favorite summer-proof product? Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. I avoid styling my hair with heat during the summer like the plague. It's simply just too hot to put heat on my hair. Then the second I walk out my door, Florida's humidity gets a hold of it and it all goes down hill from there. Not cool. I use this all the time. I spray in my hair, use my hands to scrunch it in my hair, put in messy bun for 2-3 minutes and take it out. (Hair can be wet or dry).

(Honorable Mention: Suave Clarifying Shampoo)

Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip! My dream trip would be a 7 night (or longer) cruise anywhere. We went on a cruise my Junior year of High School. It was the best vacation our family has ever been on. So much fun.

I hope everyone is enjoying summer!

Have you done this tag? I would love to read/see them. Post a link in the comments.

Happy Summer loves!

A Colorful Summer

Say hello to a world of color!

A Colorful Summer

I have a closet full of black and fallish like colors. Dark or jewel tone is really what I look at when shopping. So on this bright and happy day in Florida, I broke out of my norm and tried to expand my new horizons.

Try to expand your current wardrobe with colorful pieces.

I am slowly but surely.

Bring home items one and a time so it's not that overwhelming. Mix and match them with your standby jeans.

If the idea of neon shorts scares the living daylights out of you, look into the wonderful world of accessories. I am a jewelry freak. I am constantly changing up my go to outfit with a new necklace, earrings, purse, scarf, or shoes. My favorite accessory stores are Charming Charlie's (aka the greatest store on planet earth), or Francescas. Both stores are sell clothes but the main attraction is the jewelry and colorful accessories.

While I am beyond ready for fall, I am excited to try to revamp the rest of my summer wardrobe.

Summer Must Haves: Beauty

I HATE summer.

I live in Florida for crying out loud. I should love it but between the heat and my sweat genes, I can't stand summer.

The only way I can tolerate FL summer is with the use of a swimming pool.

So I am here to give you a list of my favorite things for summer.

Today it's all things beautiful...

Beauty Summer Must Haves

The key for summer beauty products are things that will be long wearing or serve double purpose. I can't tell you how many times I have sound myself with makeup dripping off my face (literally) and have no one to blame but myself. I have learned from my makeup sins and have finally found my holy grail of summer makeup products.

  1. BB Cream or Long wear foundation: BB creams serve double purpose with their added in sunscreen and let's face the long wearing foundation and I are married and in a monogamous relationship.
  2. Powder: If I don't have powder on my face, I am a hot mess.
  3. Matte Bronzer: I don't tan. I burn. Bronzer helps me look like I tan (to a degree). When I actually get a tan, I use a bronzer to prevent me from having to find a new foundation to wear for a total of 2 months. With a big brush, (ELF complexion brush) I swirl the bronzer on my check bones, forehead, jawline and down my neck. It gives me the look I want and I didn't have to buy a new foundation. Score!
  4. Cream Blush/ Stick eyeshadow: Yes, a powder products will work just fine, but a creams are much better during the hot summer months. The cream based product will almost become one with your skin.
  5. Waterproof Mascara: Going to the beach + getting in and out of the pool = waterproof mascara. Duh!
  6. Bright Lips: I don't care what kind of product you use. When I think of summer, I think bright lips. Try Baby Lips, Maybelline Vivids lipstick, or Revlon Lip butters. They are have great bright colors to choose from.
  7. Makeup setting spray: I don't leave my house without it.
  8. Neon Nails: I have white nail polish on my nails right now and I have developed a habit of constantly looking at my nails.
  9. Sea Salt Spray: I avoid my flat iron like the plauge during summer. It's simply not worth doing my hair with all that heat when it's going to look like crap the second I step outside. I try to only do heat styling on my hair one day a week, if at all possible. So I use a sea salt spray or a scrunch spray to make it look styled (somewhat).
Those are my summer beauty essentials.

What are yours?
