Happy 4th!

Happy Birthday America!

Time to celebrate with sun, food and fireworks.

Or in my case we went and spent the fourth with the Swiss in Ikea and then with the Italians at Olive Garden. CLASSY!

I love you America!
Happy 4th!

Beauty Product Hoarder Diary: June favorites

It's that time again!

Time to think over the past month as to what has been your most used products.

  • Wet n Wild Fergie Eyeshadow Primer, For My Primas- This is the ONLY drugstore eyeshadow primer that WORKS. I swear, I have the hardest time removing my eyeshadow at the end of the day when I use this stuff. (Which is an awesome thing.) I only need a little dot to cover one eyelid. I never have to really touch up my eyeshadow during the day. Tip: Allow it a couple seconds to dry on your lid to set in place and then you can apply eyeshadow as you wish.
  • ELF Studio Blush, Pink Passion-  This has been my go to blush for a long time but because of this heat I have really been using it a lot more. I love the color and how brightly pigmented it is.
  • ELF Shimmering Facial Whip, Lilac Petal-  I first bought this a while ago when ELF products first appeared in Target (aka mecca). I thought this line has to be crap for this price. But boy, was I wrong. You cannot beat $1 for a facial highlighter. The perfect amount of shimmer and color plus it has a great fruity scent. Tip: use the small stipple brush to apply.
  • ELF Zit Zapper- I keep it by my nightstand next to my bed. When I ready to go to sleep, I run the roller ball all over my problem areas then all over my face. By the next morning, by skin looks 2x's better than it did when I went to bed.
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara-  Just all around awesome!
  • Revlon Colorstay Basecoat- I was introduced to this base coat by LaFemme5278 on YouTube. I don't use base coats on my nails. Number 1, I hated all the ones out there. Number 2, it was an annoying step. (I was already giving up who knows how much time to do them and let the dry why do I need to hassle with a step I always found unnecessary). I tried this with hesitation and was surprised. My nails do look better with a base coat. DARN IT!
  • John Frieda Curl-Boosting Mousse- I have been using this for years especially during the summer when I only heat style my hair one day a week. My hair is straight and has a little curl when I get out of the shower. I let my hair air dry and then get some mousse to scrunch in.
  • Dial NutriSkin Replenishing Lotion, Extra Dry Skin-  I am picky about my lotions. They can't leave my skin feeling greasy bottom line. I have a list of lotions I like and ones I don't. This is the number 1 favorite of lotions I like. I never have the urge to wash my hands after applying the lotion.
  • Simple Eye Makeup Remover Pads- I use a regular makeup removing wipe to get rid of the majority of my makeup. I use these small makeup remover pads out of pure laziness. The thought of having to get out a cotton pad and put the remover on it. No. I like it already done for me. (College graduate right here.)
There you have it. My favorite things for the month of June. What were yours?

Bath and Body Works Haul

So this sort of happened...

Forgive me father for I shopped.

But I managed to save $30 bucks in process. SCORE!

Oh Semi-annual sales how I love thee.

I went shopping Friday and it was well worth it.

Here is my sisters haulage...
Coral Reef soap.
We had to get the bedazzled soap pump. (had to keyword)

The girl is addicted to anything that is shimmery or glittery.
We both liked the Sweet Pea scent better for her but all they had was Paris Amour. Oh well!

My haulage...

I wanted a summer or light body spray than what I normally use all year long.
I decided on this Country Apple body spray after lots of sniff tests.
Oh, it was $3.

I found the lotion Exotic Coconut and was in heaven.
This stuff is thebomb.com
Couldn't find anymore lotion but I got the body wash.
It's the best smelling stuff in the world.

My total for shopping bliss was $17.04. Can't beat that price

Happy Haul!

I made Jewelry

So Haley, What did you do today?

I made bracelets!

Aren't summer projects the best?

I hope to get a bunch of different types of jewelry made for my own guilty please but then spreading the love when I get the hang of things. (Fingers crossed)

Here's how made these beauty's.

Take stretch cord and thread on your favorite beads until you like what you see.
In order to knot the stretch cord, Make several regular knots in the cord but pulling the cord  to really secure the knot in between each knot. Cut excess cord. Congrats you just made your own stretch bracelet. Snaps for you!

What are your favorite summer projects?

Tomorrow morning, I am going to be staring longingly into Microsoft Exel's eyes then it will be off to the mall (as per request) to demonstrate how to window shop. It will take every fiber in me to not buy out the rest of Bath and Body Works if they still have their semi-annual sale. Gosh. I love that store. But seriously. How am I going to teach how to window shop when there is a MAJOR sale happening? Maybe I should say look over there as I run to the checkout counter and hide my sins in my "suitcase" or purse as my family calls it.

There has gotta be a better way. Oh I know, I need money.

Thanks Sallie Mae for taking all of my freedom. I greatly appreciate it...NOT!

Stepping out in Summer

What is your favorite part of Summer?

Mine is AC.

Stepping out in Summer

Shorts and sandals are apart of any girls uniform in the summertime. Get the perfect pair of sunglasses and you are set to walk out into the heat with not a care in the world.

Don't forget to roll down your window in your car and blare your favorite song (mine is Cruise Remix by Florida Georgia Line). Sing to your hearts content. It's summer!

Dear Garnier,

I don't use the same products every time I get in the shower, or style my hair. My hair has a mind of it's own and it decides what products need to be added to make it look it's best. It's like a Jesse Katsopolis kind of thing. If you don't know Full House or who I am talking about, "how rude."

I was shopping for my favorite shampoo which happens to be a dandruff shampoo. (Get over it).

I went to go get some more and they were all out. No. Not even out. They discontinued it. I almost shed tears in the aisle. Why god? Why?

My hair doesn't feel the same. My hair will never be the same without it. It literally is the best thing I have bought for my hair.

But the main thing that needs to be said is...Why the heck is there not another kind of dandruff shampoo that doesn't resemble a science experiment? I refuse to buy Head and Shoulders. I hate it. Like seriously can other company make a dandruff shampoo without it being a blue silly putty that smells horrible. H&S makes my hair extra oily and dry. It honestly makes my hair worse.

The thing about Garnier's shampoo was how it felt, looked and didn't look any different than my other shampoos.

I literally don't know what to do with myself. I need a dandruff shampoo but not that doesn't have anything to do with shoulders or heads.

Dear Garnier,

Why did you do this to me???

I NEED this stuff back in my life.

I am forever disappointed.

Signed,
Girl who wants her favorite shampoo back in her life.

Summer Must Haves: Beauty

I HATE summer.

I live in Florida for crying out loud. I should love it but between the heat and my sweat genes, I can't stand summer.

The only way I can tolerate FL summer is with the use of a swimming pool.

So I am here to give you a list of my favorite things for summer.

Today it's all things beautiful...

Beauty Summer Must Haves

The key for summer beauty products are things that will be long wearing or serve double purpose. I can't tell you how many times I have sound myself with makeup dripping off my face (literally) and have no one to blame but myself. I have learned from my makeup sins and have finally found my holy grail of summer makeup products.

  1. BB Cream or Long wear foundation: BB creams serve double purpose with their added in sunscreen and let's face the long wearing foundation and I are married and in a monogamous relationship.
  2. Powder: If I don't have powder on my face, I am a hot mess.
  3. Matte Bronzer: I don't tan. I burn. Bronzer helps me look like I tan (to a degree). When I actually get a tan, I use a bronzer to prevent me from having to find a new foundation to wear for a total of 2 months. With a big brush, (ELF complexion brush) I swirl the bronzer on my check bones, forehead, jawline and down my neck. It gives me the look I want and I didn't have to buy a new foundation. Score!
  4. Cream Blush/ Stick eyeshadow: Yes, a powder products will work just fine, but a creams are much better during the hot summer months. The cream based product will almost become one with your skin.
  5. Waterproof Mascara: Going to the beach + getting in and out of the pool = waterproof mascara. Duh!
  6. Bright Lips: I don't care what kind of product you use. When I think of summer, I think bright lips. Try Baby Lips, Maybelline Vivids lipstick, or Revlon Lip butters. They are have great bright colors to choose from.
  7. Makeup setting spray: I don't leave my house without it.
  8. Neon Nails: I have white nail polish on my nails right now and I have developed a habit of constantly looking at my nails.
  9. Sea Salt Spray: I avoid my flat iron like the plauge during summer. It's simply not worth doing my hair with all that heat when it's going to look like crap the second I step outside. I try to only do heat styling on my hair one day a week, if at all possible. So I use a sea salt spray or a scrunch spray to make it look styled (somewhat).
Those are my summer beauty essentials.

What are yours?
