Now onto the fun stuff...

Here are the rules:

Review: Platinum Strength

My hair is very important to me. So when I find something that I like, I want to share the good news of tidings and great joy.
Review TRESemme Platinum Strength
Shampoo (Far left), Conditioner (Middle), Deep Conditioning Treatment

I purchased the shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner first when they discontinued one of my favorite shampoos. I thought I would give it a whirl.

The best part of any TRESemme shampoo/conditioner is the amount of product you get for CHEAP.

Shampoo and conditioner 25 fl oz. Deep Conditioner 6 fl oz.
TRESemme Platinum Strength Strengthening Shampoo
The shampoo is good at cleaning my hair and making it feel healthy. I can tell a difference in my hair's texture when I rinse the product out of my hair almost instantly. I mostly bought it because during the summer my hair lives in a ponytail holder or has some sort of sea salt or scrunch spray because I hate heat styling my hair when it's SO humid. I use this shampoo after I use a clarifying shampoo to remove any product in my hair. This way I ensure that my hair is clean, really clean. Hair doesn't get weighed down and after using it, my brush goes through my hair with ease. I don't use this every time I step in the shower cause I feel it would be a little too much. (I rotate my shower products so my hair doesn't get used to one thing too quickly.)

Would you repurchase: Yes
TRESemme Platinum Strength Strengthening Conditioner
This is the main conditioner I am using right now. I love what it has done for my hair. My hair is softer and shinny. I like the scent as it's not overly obnoxious and just plain smells good. One thing I do with any conditioner is I put it on and leave it in for about 2-3 minutes. To me, this is the best way to get the most out of it. It has helped my hair not be as damaged and I have avoided a trip to the salon because of how it is helping my ends. I am growing my hair out, and it helps my hair stay healthy.

Would you repurchase: Yes
TRESemme Platinum Strength Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment
The deep conditioner WAS awesome...when I first used it. I used it with my clarifying shampoo and Platinum strength shampoo. My hair was the best it ever looked when I got out of the shower. It didn't make my hair overly greasy the next day. It was really good. Then I continued to use it. I wanted to get those same results I had gotten the first day (obviously). It's not too much to ask. Is it? Well, it never happened. I got instantly annoyed. I switched to the regular conditioner and used the deep conditioner up to use it up. It only took me to use the hair mask up to realize that I got a better deep condition treatment from the regular conditioner by leaving it in my hair for about 5 minutes. I don't see the difference between the regular conditioner and the deep stuff. It's the same consistency just in a smaller tube. My Aussie 3 minute miracle does more of a deep condition than that stuff will.

Would you repurchase: NO.

Overall

  • The line has helped with my hair damage
  • The deep conditioner is the regular conditioner in a smaller tube.
  • Hair feels healthier without weighing it down
  • Smells good (always a plus)

Please tell me I am the only person who thought that the deep conditioner was not good.

Thank goodness I loved the shampoo/conditioner so the line wasn't a total waste.

Beauty Product Hoarder Diary: July Favorites

Another month has past.

Time to divulge my favorite products of the month.

Beauty Favorites
  • Biore Triple Action Astringent: During the hot summer months, I use a toner left and right. My skin gets oily and just gross within seconds especially living in humid Florida. I put on a toner in the morning, at night, and after I take off my makeup. I have used a lot of this stuff as you can probably tell. It's not overly drying and does what it needs to do.
  • Cotton Balls- Cotton pads are good but cotton balls are better!
  • Equate Dual Power Moisturizer- (Knock off Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer) I have needed a moisturizer since I have noticed a small place that needed some love and TLC. I HATE moisturizer. I get oily within 5 seconds of putting it on and my face looks like an oil slick (not cute). My skin managed to explode with junk (aka Acne Volcano Wonderland) overnight. I tried my ELF Zip Zapper and that only reduced the swelling (I swear it reminded me of my teenager days). I went to Walmart the to find something to fix my "little" problem. I decided on the Clean and Clear 3 step system. They had all the steps Walmart style and it was cheaper. I was pleasantly surprised at the dramatic difference my face made after only 2-3 days. My face seemed to clear up and not get greasy. I have found a new holy grail.
  • Country Apple Body Spray Bath and Body Works- (As seen on my Bath and Body Works Haul) Reminds me of how much I want it to be Fall. The scent is fresh, crisp, light and lingers for a long time.
Hair Favorites
  •  Tresemme 24 hour Body hairspray- Tresemme makes the best hairspray. I love their Tres Two and this 24 hour body. My hair is THICK. When I say thick, I mean THICK. Not all hairsprays work well with my hair and Florida. This works for me. (It's very sad for me to report that I am almost out of it. Tear Tear!)
  • Not Your Mothers Clean Freak Dry Shampoo: The best thing about this product is the size. You get 7 oz! OH YES! The smell doesn't bother me but it took some time for me to get used to. I have used Suave, Got2B, Dove, and nothing compares to this. It doesn't spray product everywhere. Doesn't run out after using it 2 times. My hair looks refreshed all day long. Did I mention you get 7 oz?
Makeup Favorites
  • Baby Lips Pink Punch- Perfect color for Summer. Leave my lips soft.
  • Maybelline SuperStay Foundation- I have used this for over 1 year maybe 2. It is my holy grail foundation for Summer. I never have a problem with it rubbing or sweating off. I have a hard time getting it to come off even with my makeup removing wipes. Full coverage. Shear it out with a damp sponge or only apply a small amount to T zone and blend in with brush or sponge as to not look cakey.
  • Physicians Formula 2 in 1 Eye Booster Eyeliner- Oldie but goodie. I rediscovered this in my makeup collection one day and haven't stopped using it since. I bought this a long time ago and this thing keeps kicking. I wonder if it ever will run out. The brush is super easy to use and get close to lash line. Do I notice my lashes looking more full because of the serum in the liner? No. Do I care? No.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder- I go through this stuff fast. I put powder on before leaving my house to keep everything in place. This particular powder is very fine which makes it look and feel great on my skin. But because of it being so soft, I hit pan fast! That makes me sad.
  • Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana- This is not a bronzer that I will use to make me look like I just left the beach. However, this is a beautiful highlight for your check bones or an eyeshadow as I have been doing all month. Use this all over your lid and apply a crease shade if you wish. It's beautiful with just the right amount of shimmer.
  • Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin- Great cream to powder finish blush. Love the coral/peach color. I use with a small stipple brush or foundation brush to apply.

Now that another month is behind us, what were some of your favorite things that you used? Post comment below. I would love to know. Share the love with all of us.

August is here. I am ready for football and to try to get back into somewhat of a routine. We will see how well that goes.

My Hair Experiment

I am undergoing a hair experiment.

What kind you may ask?

Well one that makes me smell like my grandfather for one thing.

Since my post about my hatred for Garnier and how they discontinued my favorite shampoo, I have decided I am going to take control of my little dandruff problem.

Dandruff. Yes, I said it. Get over it.

It's either been really good or really bad. I am over it and ready to do something about it without involving a science experiment quality shampoo (cough cough Head and Shoulders).

Here is the plan.
  • Try to break the habit of not shampooing everyday. (This will be the hardest part as I have avoided shampooing my hair everyday for years.)
  • Listerine treatment as seen here. My head is soaking with Listerine as we speak. Sexy. (I am going to smell like my grandfather. I know I am. How lovely. NOT!)
  • Try a Tea Tree Oil shampoo and see if I notice a difference.
So there you have it. Keep your beautifully manicured fingers crossed as I try to win in Battle Dandruff.

Stay tuned for more to come.

Beauty Product Hoarder Diary: June favorites

It's that time again!

Time to think over the past month as to what has been your most used products.

  • Wet n Wild Fergie Eyeshadow Primer, For My Primas- This is the ONLY drugstore eyeshadow primer that WORKS. I swear, I have the hardest time removing my eyeshadow at the end of the day when I use this stuff. (Which is an awesome thing.) I only need a little dot to cover one eyelid. I never have to really touch up my eyeshadow during the day. Tip: Allow it a couple seconds to dry on your lid to set in place and then you can apply eyeshadow as you wish.
  • ELF Studio Blush, Pink Passion-  This has been my go to blush for a long time but because of this heat I have really been using it a lot more. I love the color and how brightly pigmented it is.
  • ELF Shimmering Facial Whip, Lilac Petal-  I first bought this a while ago when ELF products first appeared in Target (aka mecca). I thought this line has to be crap for this price. But boy, was I wrong. You cannot beat $1 for a facial highlighter. The perfect amount of shimmer and color plus it has a great fruity scent. Tip: use the small stipple brush to apply.
  • ELF Zit Zapper- I keep it by my nightstand next to my bed. When I ready to go to sleep, I run the roller ball all over my problem areas then all over my face. By the next morning, by skin looks 2x's better than it did when I went to bed.
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara-  Just all around awesome!
  • Revlon Colorstay Basecoat- I was introduced to this base coat by LaFemme5278 on YouTube. I don't use base coats on my nails. Number 1, I hated all the ones out there. Number 2, it was an annoying step. (I was already giving up who knows how much time to do them and let the dry why do I need to hassle with a step I always found unnecessary). I tried this with hesitation and was surprised. My nails do look better with a base coat. DARN IT!
  • John Frieda Curl-Boosting Mousse- I have been using this for years especially during the summer when I only heat style my hair one day a week. My hair is straight and has a little curl when I get out of the shower. I let my hair air dry and then get some mousse to scrunch in.
  • Dial NutriSkin Replenishing Lotion, Extra Dry Skin-  I am picky about my lotions. They can't leave my skin feeling greasy bottom line. I have a list of lotions I like and ones I don't. This is the number 1 favorite of lotions I like. I never have the urge to wash my hands after applying the lotion.
  • Simple Eye Makeup Remover Pads- I use a regular makeup removing wipe to get rid of the majority of my makeup. I use these small makeup remover pads out of pure laziness. The thought of having to get out a cotton pad and put the remover on it. No. I like it already done for me. (College graduate right here.)
There you have it. My favorite things for the month of June. What were yours?

Summer Must Haves: Beauty

I HATE summer.

I live in Florida for crying out loud. I should love it but between the heat and my sweat genes, I can't stand summer.

The only way I can tolerate FL summer is with the use of a swimming pool.

So I am here to give you a list of my favorite things for summer.

Today it's all things beautiful...

Beauty Summer Must Haves

The key for summer beauty products are things that will be long wearing or serve double purpose. I can't tell you how many times I have sound myself with makeup dripping off my face (literally) and have no one to blame but myself. I have learned from my makeup sins and have finally found my holy grail of summer makeup products.

  1. BB Cream or Long wear foundation: BB creams serve double purpose with their added in sunscreen and let's face the long wearing foundation and I are married and in a monogamous relationship.
  2. Powder: If I don't have powder on my face, I am a hot mess.
  3. Matte Bronzer: I don't tan. I burn. Bronzer helps me look like I tan (to a degree). When I actually get a tan, I use a bronzer to prevent me from having to find a new foundation to wear for a total of 2 months. With a big brush, (ELF complexion brush) I swirl the bronzer on my check bones, forehead, jawline and down my neck. It gives me the look I want and I didn't have to buy a new foundation. Score!
  4. Cream Blush/ Stick eyeshadow: Yes, a powder products will work just fine, but a creams are much better during the hot summer months. The cream based product will almost become one with your skin.
  5. Waterproof Mascara: Going to the beach + getting in and out of the pool = waterproof mascara. Duh!
  6. Bright Lips: I don't care what kind of product you use. When I think of summer, I think bright lips. Try Baby Lips, Maybelline Vivids lipstick, or Revlon Lip butters. They are have great bright colors to choose from.
  7. Makeup setting spray: I don't leave my house without it.
  8. Neon Nails: I have white nail polish on my nails right now and I have developed a habit of constantly looking at my nails.
  9. Sea Salt Spray: I avoid my flat iron like the plauge during summer. It's simply not worth doing my hair with all that heat when it's going to look like crap the second I step outside. I try to only do heat styling on my hair one day a week, if at all possible. So I use a sea salt spray or a scrunch spray to make it look styled (somewhat).
Those are my summer beauty essentials.

What are yours?

DIY Moisturizing Sugar Scrub

I know what you are thinking.

Moisturizing and scrub don't go together. I get it. But you have to trust me on this one.

You simply can't go wrong with this. The main reason why I love it is because it's CHEAP!

I can place a bet you have everything you need to do it tonight if you want to.

Back in the day, they didn't have dial body wash or lotion. They used olive oil to keep their skin soft. It's just that simple.

Here is what you need.

  • Sugar
  • Olive Oil
  • Lemon or lime juice (optional)
  • Jar of some kind (I found mine in the Tupperware cabinet)
  1. Take your jar or container and clean it well with warm soap and water
  2. Pour EVOO into the bottom of the jar to coat the bottom of the jar
  3. Layer sugar on top of olive oil (should look like picture)
  4. Repeat process until you reach the top of jar
  5. Mix
  6. Add Lemon or Lime juice to make your scrub smell like lemons and not like you are about to fry chickens if you want
  7. Put a lid on it
  8. Label (if you want)
  9. Scrub away!

My final product!
Like the flower? I know you do!

Take it in the shower or tub with you and enjoy!

Beauty Product Hoarder Diary: April Favorites

(I am starting a thing where whenever I post about beauty products or anything beauty related I am going to enter into in my diary, My beauty product hoarder diary. Let's see if I can get this problem under control. Wish me luck.)

Dear Diary,

I love beauty products. I can't lie. It's a problem.

Here are my favorite things for the month of April...
  • Simple Replenishing Moisturizer- I have always been afraid of moisturizers because of my super oily skin. Well, I think I found a good product that doesn't leave my skin very oily. Hallelujah! I use this every day night after I take off the mask of makeup. When I wake up, I notice my soft skin!
  • Loreal True Match Concealer- This is my all time favorite concealer of all time. I just recently rediscovered it in the back of my face makeup drawer in my vanity. I saw beams of light appear and angels singing when I pulled it out. I LOVE this concealer. It is great coverage and matches my skin tone perfectly. But the thing that I love the most is the fact that it has a brush applicator. I don't need to pull out a separate brush. I just use its applicator to put the product on, then get rid of the excess and  blend it all in.
  • Statement Color Block Earrings- Target always hits the spot. I was in a weird mood and found myself on my way to Target. Well, I was wanting to get some replacement hoop earrings because my others have died and gone to earring heaven and I found mecca...JEWELRY SALE!!!! Those red stickers were singing my name. So many earrings. So little time. I found those blue babies that nearly jumped in my cart for $4!
  • ELF Blending Eye Brush- A eyeshadow blending brush for 1 buck. Yes, Please!!!!
  • ELF Baked Eye shadow- I have loved ELF products for a while. With their prices how can you not love the brand. I have just a lot of products eyelid primer, shimmer whip, brushes, blush, bronzer and more. But I never have tried their eyeshadows. I noticed all of the new elf stuff on Target shelves and found the baked shadows and picked up 3. (The price tag made me do it). Enchanted, Bark and Burnt plum were the colors of choice. After having these shadows for over 2 months, I use these shadows more than my others. They have great color pay off and so easy to work with. My only complaint about these shadows is that they don't have enough colors to choose from. And that is a problem.
  • Maybelline Baby Lips in Coral Crush- I keep this in my purse at all times. I use this as color as my everyday chap stick. I have other colors in the Baby Lips brand that I use on their own as a tinted chap stick but I love the coral as my everyday base coat for my lips.
  • Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Very Cherry- My go to red lipstick for when it's a red lipstick kind of day.
  • Olay Oil Minimizing Toner- Use this everyday but mostly right before I apply my makeup. I can tell a huge difference when I don't. I have very oily skin and this oil minimizing toner helps keep my oily skin under control and makes my foundation apply better.
These have been my holy grail products for the month of April.

What have been yours?

Review: Rimmel London BB Cream

Time to jump on the beauty product bandwagon.

Introducing drugstore BB creams.

I am a foundation girl and always have been. To be quite honest, the idea of a cream on my face that has the possibilities of replacing my foundation freaked me out. I like my foundation. I like the "junk" on my face to be covered so no one has to see it, including me.

So  when BB creams came out on the market and took over, I was fine with it but I couldn't find one that I liked in the drugstore. I am not about to pay $30-$40 for one product at the makeup counter. Never have and never will. I like my products readily available at any Target or Walmart. Word!

But then Rimmel introduced their new contribution to the world of drugstore BB creams and I became a very happy girl.

BB Cream SPF 25

Primes, Moisturizes, Minimizes Pores, Conceals, Covers, Smoothes, Mattifies, Brightens, and helps Protect.

Pros
  • I love using this product when I am at home and running errands.
  • Light/Medium coverage compared to drugstore foundations.
  • SPF 25
  • When you apply a powder over the BB cream it doesn't get shiny throughout the day
  • Matches my skin tone very well
  • Doesn't get heavy
  • Don't need a lot of product to cover your entire face. Little goes a long way
Cons
  • Looks streaky when applied with fingers. (I have to apply with a foundation sponge)
  • Need to use a concealer with it to make sure my "junk" is covered.
Side note:
Junk-(n) /jÉ™NGk/ acne, acne scaring, facial volcanoes, explosions on face

Overall, I love this product. I rarely reach for my foundations anymore.

Grade A-

Have you seen the make-up look using Rimmel BB Cream

BB Cream Look

Want to know how to make your new BB Cream a part of your everyday make-up routine?

Here's how....

BB Cream Look
  1. Apply the BB Cream onto skin using fingers or a foundation sponge. (If you really want to sheer out the coverage use a damp sponge.)
  2. Take a cream eyeshadow, I like the Smokey shadow stick from Revlon in Torch to use for your eyes. Apply the lighter shade all over eye for a base. Then take the darker color and apply on crease of eyelids. Blend the product in with a brush until you like the way it looks.
  3. Line your upper lash line with eyeliner
  4. Smudge the darker color from the eyeshadow stick onto lower lash line for a smokey look
  5. Mascara on both top and bottom lashes.
  6. Place Dream Bouncy blush on the apples of cheeks.
  7. Tinted lip balm.

March Favorites

Goodbye March...Hello April!

I am on a mission to post as much as I can for the month of April, then hopefully it will become a habit. (You're welcome America.)

Considering my pure love and obsession with beauty vloggers on YouTube, I thought I would try doing the same thing just in written form. Cause let's get real here people, I am already having a hard time posting on a consistent basis. You really think I would try the video thing here too. (not a chance...well at least right now...I am not making any promises.)

Anyways onto the good stuff:

What are your favorite beauty products this month?

Happy Spring
